Being the resident “fat guy” in the family occasionally I get an idea to add calories to something that absolutely needed no help in that category. Sometimes it’s wonderful, sometimes it tastes like you’ve just shoved a cup of lard in your mouth…not good (depending on your perspective in life I guess). French Toast Waffles I’ve decided to file under “good.”
French Toast Waffles Recipe
This is largely as easy as it sounds but here is how I chose to make them. Here’s what you’ll need:
1 box Eggo Blueberry Waffles
5 or 6 large eggs
Working Arms and Eyes
Start by beating the eggs in a mixing bowl. Then add a teaspoon of cinnamon sugar (you’ll add more later). Next toast your waffles to the lowest setting, you’re going to want these to still be somewhat soggy. Pre-heat your frying pan to warm. Add butter and wait for it to be somewhat melted. After the butter has melted dip the waffles to the egg mixture.
Once the waffle is completely coated in the egg mixture place it on the frying pan. Allow the first side to sit for around 4 minutes or until it’s slightly brown. After flip and add more cinnamon sugar to the already cooked side. When the other side of the waffle is cooked to brown flip it face up on your plate and add more cinnamon sugar to this side. Repeat with the rest of the waffles until you’ve cooked them all.
For toppings you can add anything you want, we added fruit and whipped cream to ours, but it would have tasted as good with syrup or powdered sugar. Have an idea to improve something you commonly eat, let you inner “fat guy” out and share your idea, we’ll try anything once!
